I completely disagree with this article. A 3-24 record in three years at butler is a complete joke no offense. I’m sure this coach was a nice guy, but thats the problem. We need a mean coach that will scare the wits out of these kids and bring some toughness back to Butler. Cathell had a much better record with Butler in his tenure there didn’t have winless years like Mcanallen did. Mcanallen was an assistant coach from North Hills that had no prior experience. What Butler needs is Art Benardi to start coaching this team or Mr. Savannah the strength and conditioning coach. Butler needs a gritty coach that puts the pride of football back into butler instead of all the attention being paid to the Butler Band at halftime. A coach that defies butler will be important. A coach that will stand up against the parent that says, why Johnny can’t participate in this… is what we need. Tough, gritty, attitude that will put the B back into Butler and shake the very foundation of the WPIAL. We need a coach who isnt afraid of NA, Central Catholic, and all these big time high school programs. A coach that will make sure we beat our rival Seneca or run wind sprints up suicide hill till it hurts. A coach that will pride himself on getting the kids really involved the community and helping others to build complete chemsitry from the first string starters to the bench players.

Wes… we need a coach of gritt, determination, high character, and self motivation that will teach kids on and off the field. We haven’t had that in a long time in Butler and we need that type of tradition back.
